AE salutes G-Mac

As expected, Gerald McLemore earned America East Player of the Week honors. Not expected was that he had to share the award. He's the first Black Bear honored this season. Binghamton's Greer Wright shared the award with McLemore.

Wright and Binghamton went 1-1 on the week with Wright hitting for 30 Sunday in a win at Vermont. McLemore, meanwhile, helped UMaine to a 3-0 week, averaging nearly 20 a game, including a career high 27 Saturday at Hartford.

The America East release mistakenly referred to McLemore as a junior. He's a sophomore.

I'm really not looking forward to facing him, he's just good and really deserved it. If it's not UMBC I'm rooting for either you guys or Stony Brook to win the championship because I really, really don't like Vermont and Boston U.

Sort of like us rooting for UMBC the past couple years. Gerald has had a rough stretch where opponents are really forcing him farther out on the floor, but they've been persistent in trying to find other players to increase productivity. And it looks like that is paying off. Terrance Mitchell has helped more than people realize (at this point).
